First of all... THE RULES:

  1. To apply; join the community, copy the application from below, answer ALL of the questions, and post the appliction behind an lj-cut. If you don't know how to do an lj-cut you obviously aren't elite enough. So ha.
  2. Only stamped members can post anything beside an application and only stamped members can vote on an new member.
  3. Any hostilitiy towards a mod or any unmerited hostility towards another member will result in an automatic ban.
  4. Any posts that either moderator warrants stupid can and will be deleted. I know this may seem mean but come on...we're elitists... and you should know what warrants a "stupid" post.
  5. Stamped members: Try to vote on every application. Answer with either a bolder yes or no (or equivalent) and explian your answer. No simple yes's or no's.

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR MODERATOR
So, you think you have what it takes to become a member of horrorelitists? This is a community where you apply by joining the community, filling out the application in this info, and then we judge you, voting on wether or not you get to become a member. But be warned, just because you've seen every Friday the 13th movie twelve times, that doesn't mean you're elite. You have to have a well balance range of horror involving everything from B-Grade Slashers, to Mondo Exploitation, to German Sleaze to get in here. Think you make the grade? Apply!

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR CO-MODERATOR

So you like horror films. This is good. There are many horror fans in the world. Considerably fewer are those who are truly devoted to the horror genre in all it's forms. I'm speaking of those who feel horror in their blood, have a true passion for the genre. It can't be faked; it comes from the heart. In keeping with their passion, the horror elite seek out every kind of horror film they can get their hands on, from early silents like Edison Frankenstein and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, to sleazy z-graders like Bloodsucking Freaks and Shriek of the Mutilated, to artfully done masterpieces like Audition and Eyes Without a Face, and beyond. Any subgenre, any country, any decade. They are willing to try anything, but aren't afraid to call a film a piece of junk, no matter the popular opinion of it. The horror elite also do research, research, research; if you know more than five of Jess Franco's pseudonyms, you probably belong here.

Some other important things: Spelling counts. Grammar counts. Details count. Everyone makes mistakes, but do your research and don't be sloppy. Above all, THINK. Analyze, interpret, critique, praise, question, debate. Complacency is death. Show your passion for horror. This is the place for it.

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR CO-MODERATOR

This is an elite horror community. You think you got the stuff to get in? Bring it on. Write in the application and use lj-cut. Lack of lj-cut = automatic death! Here's some helpful advice if you really want to get in. Don't you dare write the synopsis of a movie, instead of the reasons why you liked it. Listing names without reason is just plain lazy and won't get you in. Fill out the whole application. The more you tell us what you know the more likely you'll get in. Please take this last fact to heart. We are not dumb. Don't write stuff like "Halloween is cool!" or "Freddy is scary." Short sentences that don't add anything to your application will not impress us. Now go fill out the application and show us your stuff.
